As the medical director of Comprehensive Behavioral Health, located in Staunton, Virginia, Timothy J. Kane, MD, provides comprehensive outpatient psychiatric care for adult patients. Dr. Kane is board certified in adult psychiatry.
Dr. Kane completed his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at University of Virginia. He went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Virginia, School of Medicine in Charlottesville. Dr. Kane served as chief resident for the department of behavioral medicine and psychiatry at University of Virginia Hospital, University of Virginia Medical School.
Dr. Kane shares his experience and knowledge as the psychiatric clinical instructor for VCOM Medical School, Virginia Polytechnic and State University and Advisory Board of Directors, PA program for Murphy Deming College of Sciences.
Dr. Kane uses this first-hand knowledge of emerging treatments, and best practices to provide the most effective care to his patients. His goal is to help patients recover from mental health conditions and develop the skills and strategies they need to lead an active and fulfilling life.
Brandon Gallo, PA-C, earned his Bachelor’s degree from James Madison University and attended graduate school at Mary Baldwin University, earning his degree in Physician Assistant studies. Originally a Hampton Roads native, Brandon now resides in the Shenandoah Valley. He enjoys time with his family as well as hiking & mountain-biking.
Brooks Floyd brings a wealth of knowledge to his role at Comprehensive Behavioral Health. He graduated from Eastern Mennonite University with a bachelor's degree in nursing, from James Madison University with his Family Nurse Practitioner, and from Liberty University with his post-masters' certificate in psychiatry. His nursing career began at the University of Virginia where he worked on the Surgical Trauma Burn ICU and Medical Emergency Team. Brooks then worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the post-acute care setting, with additional work in psychiatry. He also acts as a preceptor and mentor to current psychiatry students and recently authored a psychopharmacology reference book in collaboration with Dr. Timothy Kane. Brooks specializes in bioidentical testosterone therapy for men and is passionate about the tremendous impact it can have on depression and overall vitality. In his spare time, Brooks enjoys traveling, golfing, hiking, fishing, lifting weights, and spending quality time with his daughter.

Kimberly Tarnai, PA-C, completed her Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies at Mary Baldwin’s Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia as an Echols Scholar majoring in Mathematics and Religious Studies. After working briefly in family medicine, Ms. Tarnai became passionate about the critical importance of mental health to overall wellness and quality of life and chose to focus her practice exclusively on helping patients improve mental health. Ms. Tarnai is the enthusiastic mother of three grown children and enjoys running, cycling or gardening in her free time.

Leslie has more than twenty years of experience as a clinical psychiatric pharmacist. She enjoys collaborating with providers and their patients with complex behavioral health and medication issues.
Morgan Davis, RD, completed her dietetic internship at Meredith College. Prior to that, she received her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise at Virginia Tech, with a double focus in Dietetics and Science of Food, and a minor in Psychology. Morgan has worked in various capacities as a registered dietitian with a background in both community and clinical nutrition. She owned a wellness and nutrition counseling business for 7 years and is excited to be a part of a group practice again. When not helping others live healthier lifestyles and improve their relationships with food, Morgan loves to cook, hike, follow Hokie sports, and spend time with her family.

Stephanie Bruton, PA-C, joined Comprehensive Behavioral Health after completing her Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies at Mary Baldwin’s Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences, where she was a member of the charter class. Before pursuing her Physician Assistant studies, she graduated with honors with her Bachelor of Science in Biology from North Carolina State University, becoming the first in her family to graduate from college. After many years of being a stay at home mom, she was ready to use both her academics as well as her life experience to help others. Outside of work, Stephanie loves traveling, gardening, camping, martial arts, and being a sport’s mom.

Dr. Matney moved to the Shenandoah Valley in 2015 after completing her Doctorate of Psychology degree in California. Dr. Matney has experience working with a wide array of mental health conditions with a particular interest in trauma and PTSD. She also has experience working with individuals struggling with Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, individuals on the LGBTQ+ spectrum, and those struggling with life transitions and adjustments. Dr. Matney utilizes a combination of treatment techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Psychodynamic techniques.

Erica Bourdeau, PMHNP-BC, WHNP, is a duly trained psychiatric and women's health nurse practitioner. She earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health through Liberty University and a master’s degree in Women’s Health from Stony Brook University in 2009. While employed at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, she received extensive training from top-tier professionals employed by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and Johns Hopkins University pertaining to obstetrical, gynecological, and urogynecology care. She has completed advanced training in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy through the Academy of Preventative & Innovative Medicine and is passionate about practicing reproductive psychiatry with hormone optimization. Erica has also participated in training specific to Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. In her free time, Erica enjoys golfing, hiking, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Martha Sheridan is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor with extensive experience serving individuals and groups in the Shenandoah Valley. She specializes in providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a proven approach to help individuals navigate life’s challenges more effectively. DBT has been shown to support individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, grief and loss, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders.
